Anjana Zaveri was born on 20 April 1972 in a Gujarati family in Portsmouth, London. Anjana was selected by Vinod Khanna in a nationwide search in England for the film Himalay Putra, which also marked Vinod Khanna's son Akshaye Khanna's film debut. She acted in Betaabi. Anjana starred in the 1998 blockbuster romantic comedy, Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya, starring Salman Khan and Kajol. In the same year, she starred opposite Chiranjeevi in the Telugu movie, Choodalani Vundi. She was very successful in Tollywood films. She was introduced to Tollywood by Suresh Productions in the movie Preminchukundam Raa opposite Venkatesh and has shared screen with him again in Devi Putrudu. She was nominated for Filmfare Award for Best Actress in Telugu for Preminchukundam Raa in 1997.
Her other Hindi movies are Betaabi, Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya where she plays the role of Ujala. She then got busy with the South films like Pagaivan in Tamil, Choodalani Vundi with Chiranjeevi, Samarasimha Reddy with BalaKrishna, Ravoyi Chandamama with Nagarjuna. She has acted with all the top stars in Telugu. In 2001 she acted with Venkatesh in Devi Putrudu a mythology fiction movie, Prema Sandadi again in Telugu, Ullam Kollai Poguthae in Tamil and in a Malayalam film, Dubai.
She is married to Tarun Arora and selectively acts in films. From 2002 she has only made Guest appearances. Her notable appearances are Mahesh Babu's Naani, Shankar Dada M B B S., where she just appears in a song. She also appeared in Inidhu Inidhu in Tamil, Nammanna in Kannada, Aapthudu in Telugu, Nigehbaan in Hindi. She was last seen as Maaya in 2012 Telugu Film Life is Beautiful.
