Sree Vishnu was born in Antarvedipalem of East Godavari district on 29 February 1984. He graduated with a Bachelor of Business Management (Honors) from Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management, Visakhapatnam. He worked as a web designer in Hyderabad till 2006, after which he quit to pursue a career in the film industry and started as an assistant director.
While in college he was a member of the theatre group. He also played for the under-19 Andhra cricket team. Vishnu is a friend of fellow actor Nara Rohit and has collaborated with him in several films. Nara Rohit produced Appatlo Okadundevaadu with Vishnu as a lead in 2016.
Vishnu acted in several short films. One of them, "Bewarse" directed by Pavan Sadineni, became popular on YouTube. His first film roles were minor ones in Baanam and Solo, both are Nara Rohit films as Hero. In 2013, he was approached by Pavan Sadineni, for a lead role in the film Prema Ishq Kaadhal, an anthology stories film with other star cast. This was his breakthrough film. In 2014, he acted in Nara Rohit's Prathinidhi as a home minister's son. In this movie Vishnu sparkles with his dialogue delivery.
Vishnu also acted in other character roles in movies like, Love Failure, Naa Ishtam, Life Is Beautiful before his noted role as Royal Raju in Prema Ishq Kaadhal in 2013. He also acted in other Nara Rohit films, Okkadine, Asura. In 2015 he acted in S/O Satyamurthy starring Allu Arjun. He acted in Jayammu Nischayammu Raa, Maa Abbayi before he acted in a significant Role in Unnadi Okate Zindagi as Vasu. His confused role as Aravind Krishna in the 2017's Mental Madhilo brought him to limelight. He also acted in a negative shaded role in Veera Bhoga Vasantha Rayalu. He then become noted for his different storylines for movies like Needi Naadi Oke Katha, Brochevarevarura, Thipparaa Meesam, Gaali Sampath, Raja Raja Chora, Arjuna Phalguna, Bhala Tandanana. In his recent film, Alluri, he acted in a sincere police officer role who sacrifices his life for duty. In 2018, he was nominated for SIIMA Award for Best Supporting Actor for the film Unnadi Okate Zindagi (2017). He also encourages new talented directors and writers like his friend Nara Rohit.
He got married to Prashanthi and the couple has a Daughter.
